Competition Law

Competition law is a relatively new branch of law in Serbia and, accordingly, majority of undertakings are not sufficiently informed about their rights and duties envisaged in the Law on the Protection of Competition and other regulations that regulate market on the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

The public in Serbia is generally not sufficiently informed that besides the Law on Consumer Protection, there are other legal acts passed in order to protect consumers from damage made by the companies that operate on the market.

Law office Marović has successfully participated in various proceedings before the Commission for the Protection of Competition of the Republic of Serbia, e.g. merger control, individual exemptions, and so on, through which it gained a high degree of quality and recognizability.

Attorney at Law Marko Marović has finished the LL.M. programme at Leiden University, Law School (the Netherlands) in the field of international and European business law, with a special emphasis on Competition Law and Corporate Law. After the mentioned LL.M. programme, Marko Marović wrote an article that was published in an international journal, European Competition Law Review. The said article refers to the commercial, rather than a political side of an ongoing dispute between Telekom and United Group in Serbia.
